Today I will speak about a subject that has been engraved on me since it was named in a class of urbanism this semester, it turns out that currently in certain places of Santiago a displacement of the population has taken place, this phenomenon is specifically studied in Recoleta the surroundings of "la Vega", from this we arrive as a group to the concept of "gentrification", and the question is how we saw it.
Well, it turns out that gentrification is a process of elitization of a sector, in which value is given to it by making it more expensive, which causes a displacement of population with greater resources to the area, displacing the population that already lived in the place. In Recoleta we saw it when we analyzed the process of transformation of the fertile lowlands in the last few years and it turns out that, with the arrival of foreigners and their new exotic products, it produced interest in a higher socioeconomic level, which triggers an increase in prices for both products and residences, thus generating our phenomenon of gentrification.
